this quote is the most brilliant thing i have stumbled upon in months. it is something i want to live by. i always find things that are inspiring to me, but i forget them so quickly, until i look way back in the archives of my journals.

for so many reasons, i love this. empathy is one of the most important things in the world, i think. we are all so skillful at concealing who we really are. when you do not know someone's story, it leaves room for you to imagine all sorts of things about them that are so inaccurate. at least, that is how i feel. i do this all of the time. whenever i encounter a stranger or acquaintance who is in a sassy mood, i take it personally. i walk away with hurt feelings and preconceived notions. but i would like to be better at seeking out the beautiful truth in people.

the other day, i went to see john mark mcmillan in folsom and the wonderful band gungor. i can't get over them.
